My favorite book when I was a kid would probably be this one about animals, and all the mother animals were putting their baby animals to sleep. I can't remember the name of it. My mom would always read it to me and my little sister before we went to bed, so that's why it means a lot to me.
ReplyDeleteIf I made a kids book it would be about little girls gaining confidence as they grow older since there's not a lot of books like that, and to tell them they're perfect just as they are, and to not change for anyone.
My favorite book whenever I was little would definitely have to be Turk and Runt by Lisa Wheeler. This book takes form in a thanksgiving comedy where the main characters are a family of turkeys. There a two brothers and a mother and father. The older of the brothers is named Turk and the younger is Runt. All throughout the book, Turk (encouraged by his parents), performs for potential turkey-buying customers to convince them to buy him, unaware of the fate the would await him come thanksgiving dinner. The only one of the four turkeys who understands that Turk walking straight to his death is Runt. But as the book repeatedly states after each incident that Runt foils "But no one ever listened to Runt". This book was really cute and was super important to me as a child because it taught me that just because people aren't willing to listen or accept your help does not make you wrong. In the end, everyone of course listens to Runt and there's of course a happen ending. This book was just really meaningful to me as a kid and was something that my mom read to me. There were of course more sentimental ones like Goodnight Moon, I love you to the moon and back, etc... but that was just one that stood out to me.
ReplyDeleteIf I were to write a kids book I feel like the main characters would probably be animals because the majority of books that were meaningful to me as a kid all included animals as main characters. Either that or it would be a book about grief for kids or something with a generally positive and uplifting message. It would have to be authentic and constructive though, not just some fake lovey-dovey stuff. I would definitely prefer to do it by hand as well as opposed to digitally.
My favorite story as a book were the stories of Geronimo Stilton. He was a rat that was an author and went on crazy adventures. I loved these stories because they always kept my attention and I loved the characters.
ReplyDeleteI would probably want to write my kids book about an animal and their story as well. I feel like that is fun and creates limitless possibilities since the animals are able to talk.
I would rather create the textbook digitally because I think it would turn out better, be easier to share and access, and also help explore certain digital skills that may help in the future. Also, I do not have art supplies at my house.
My favorite book as a kid was Oh the Places You'll Go by Dr.Seuss, this story is about adventure and leaving the palces you know but finding somethings more by going to the places you'll know. This book gave me a hope for the future, kinda let me know that kife is gonna suck sometimes but it'll get better. I think that if i wrote a kids book then i'd want it to be about how life can be difficult for people sometimes but you just have to keep pushing and everything will be okay. I think that it would be easier for me to use a hard copy because i work better with penci land paper rather than online.
ReplyDeleteAs a toddler I loved the ¨Serendipity¨ book series. My favorite was called ¨Glitterby Baby¨. It was about a Pegasus from a magical land which you could only access by flying. When visiting the mortal world, she fell in love and mated with a horse. She gave birth to a foal with underdeveloped wings (because it was only half Pegasus). She wasn´t sure if her baby would be able to fly home to their magical land with her.In the end, the baby´s wings developed in time and they returned to the magical land together. I´m not sure why I liked this book so much. I know that a big part of it was the illustrations which I still love to this day. Now that I actually think about the story line, I think I probably related the story to my parents divorce and my mom´s fight for custody over me while my dad and new stepmom claimed she was an unfit parent. In response to the questions involving my own children's book; I think I will write a story involving sentience in all life forms. I would prefer a hard copy, but I understand that it would be difficult with online learning.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book as a child was Go Dog Go by Doctor Seuss.I really liked it because of all the vivd colors in the book. The book is about a group of highly mobile dogs that operate cars and who are in pursuit of work, play, and in the end a dog party in a big ole tree.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite books as a kid was the Inheritance cycle of books, starting with Eragon. The plot can be summarized as: Farmboy acquires magical dragon egg; it hatches, he gets magic, and is pursued by the evil empire.
ReplyDeleteI liked it for a few reasons, mainly that it was my introduction to the fantasy genre as well as that it had a fairly good reading level for me at the time, not too hard nor too easy.
I have absolutely no idea what I would like to make a book about. I do know that I want to make it online, rather than in person, though.
In elementary I loved this book called 'The Doll People' it is a children's novel about the imaginary world of dolls when no one is watching.
ReplyDeleteIf I were to write a children's book it'd be about accepting everyone for who they are. I would rather create my own children's book through paper than virtually.
My favorite children's book from when I was little was A Bad Case of Stripes. It is about this girl who really likes Lima beans but when she eats them she turns different colors. I would want to write a childrens book about an animal getting lost then finding their way back home. I think the book would look better if it was created online.
ReplyDeleteI didn't have one single favorite book as a kid. I read a lot, on my own and with my mom. I remember a few picture books I loved. The Berenstain Bears, which I don't remember why I liked so much, it was just one of those that I would read all the books over and over. The Rainbow Fish, I remember liking the illustrations in this one when I was little. Fish Out of Water, I loved this book, I thought it was funny but no one seems to remember it as well as I do. And The Hiccupotamus, this book was about a hippo with the hiccups and the hiccups spread to all the other animals and I thought it was so funny. My mom and I mostly read chapter books when I was little. Our favorites were the American Girl Doll books. She had the three originals, which if I remember correctly were Samantha, Molly, and and Keirsten. I loved the American Girl Dolls when I was little, and I loved reading the books. I love history, always have, so I think I liked being able to read about history, but when you're little these books were able to keep your focus more while still teaching you important lessons about history and life. We would also read the Katie Kazoo books. My mom and I probably read every single one. These were special to me because my mom and I read them together. I didn't know very many other people who had read them either so I think that made it more special. And the Pixie Hollow books. These were about Tinkerbell and her friends. I always liked the movies so I think I liked being able to learn more about the characters through the books. I was really big on the Fancy Nancy books. Those were picture books though. They came out with chapter books and I did read some of those but I had outgrown it a little bit so I never finished all of them. I even dressed up as Fancy Nancy when I was around six I believe, and my brother was her dog Frenchy.
ReplyDeleteI'm not quite sure what I want to write about yet. I've been thinking about it and I might want to try a story about an animal or a bug. Something like that. I tend to lean towards writing about people, which makes sense, but for a children's book I might like to try something different.
I would say my favorite book as a kid was Bone 1: Out From Boneville. It is the start of the Bone Saga. It follow the trio of Bones, Fone, Phoney, and Smiley. They get separated due to a locust swarm and the story follows Fone Bone as he tries to reunite with his friends. I like this book because It ignited my love for graphic novels and was one of the book series I wanted to complete.
ReplyDeleteIf I were to make a children's book, I think I would make a child's version of Warhammer 40k lore. following the original lore, but make it kid friendly. Mostly because I think it would be hilarious and I've just been playing and watching a lot of Warhammer 40k related media.
One of my favorite books as a kid was Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein. I've always loved poetry and this book inspired me to write my own as a kid. I especially loved the poem The Crocodiles Toothache in this book. I memorized it back in fourth grade and I can still recite it word for word to this day. All of the poems were really interesting and kinda surreal. The art in the book was really cool too. I later read other books by Shel Silverstein but this was the first one I found and the one I like the best. If I were to write my own children's book I'd like to make it about Norse Mythology. I found a children's picture book about Norse mythology at this renaissance store that I go to and thought it was a really cool concept, so I'd like to try my own version. If I were to make a book I would much rather make it physically on paper and do hand drawings, but maybe have the words typed out. I would probably scan my drawings and touch them up and color them digitally.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite childhood book is about Sam who tries to get his friend to eat green eggs and ham, but his friend doesn't want to and keep saying no. Sam doesn't give up instead he finds way to get him to eat the green eggs and ham. After many fails Sam finally got his friend to eat the green eggs and ham, which we finds out that the friend actually does like green eggs and ham.
ReplyDeleteI like this book because of how hard Sam tries to get his friend to eat the green eggs and ham, and no matter what he never gave up. At the end, he succeed at getting his friend to eat them, and realize he does like them after all. Also my mother use this book to get us to try new foods.
What I would write about is a girl who has five sibling and how she goes through her every day with living with them and growing up together can be a crazy adventure. I would rather make a children book with my own illustration cause I can do it without worrying about something going wrong and I not know how to fix the problem.
